Weisse Pagoda Park in Hangzhou

Hangzhou / China

The competition area is embossed by the Imperial canal, the longest manmade waterway on Earth, the entrance to which is marked by a white Pagoda.

Today, Hangzhou is a modern city known for its history but there also remains a strong tradition to embrace new Education, Culture, and Technology. We propose for this site a new Museum for Technology and Transport that, positioned symbolically at the start of the longest artificial waterway in the world, will feature industrial architecture spanning from the time of the White Pagoda (9th century) to the modern.
